Cornering is what we all love doing on our bikes but it is also one of the main causes of
motorcycle crashes here in the UK.
Often there are no other vehicles involved – the rider just fails to negotiate the corner
safely.
There are many reasons why:
• Inexperience
• Failing to read the road
• Excessive speed
• Lack of understanding…..etc!
As part of our offer of Advanced Training, South Warwickshire Advanced Riders
run a number of skills workshops specifically aimed at alleviating these one vehicle crashes.
During the workshops both the theory and practice will be covered.
The Theory part will cover techniques such as, counter steering, bike dynamics, throttle
control, gear selection and last but not least road position.
Out on the road there will be demonstrations on how to put all the Theory into Practice
followed by an opportunity to discover, under the watchful eye of a Group Tutor, just how easy and safe cornering can be.
No matter how experienced, by the end of these workshops you will feel safer and more
confident during cornering and better able to read the road correctly which in turn will
make your biking much smoother and perhaps most importantly of all –
much more enjoyable!
